Mr. Potato Head Meets DC Comics

Mr-Potato-Head-DC-ComicsA Mr. Potato Head toy collection isn’t complete without DC Comics versions of this classic toy. Batman, Superman, even Wonder Woman are represented in the Hasbro toys. Add these iconic treats to your own collection.
Popular Toy Collections
Mr. Potato Head, along with the Mrs and the whole family, are popular for collectors of classic and iconic toys. And for good reason. The toy was first manufactured in 1952 as only face parts that were meant to be stuck in real potatoes. Of course, we know this was a dangerous toy and soon turned into the plastic spud body with interchangeable parts. For more than 60 years this toy has been popular with kids and collectors alike.

DC Comic Versions

My own collection includes the Dark Knight Batman character along with Superman and Wonder Woman. These are all full-sized traditional Mr. Potato Head characters. To me, this makes them extra special in my collection.

Of course, the parts are interchangeable. That’s one of those traditions of the Mr. Potato Head toys. Yes, I have had some fun with creating Mrs. Superman and Wonder Man, but I prefer the looks as they were meant to be.

Display Your Collection

Any classic toy collection deserves to be displayed where you can enjoy it and show it off to any visitors. Plain shelves can work fine, but I prefer glass display cases. Not only can all the toys be seen easily, but the enclosed cases protect the toys from dust, wind, and little fingers wanting to play with the toys. I have worked long and hard to gather my collection, so I want to protect and show it off with a glass display case.

More Mr. Potato Head DC Comic Characters

There are plenty of choices for more of these classic toys. At DC Comics Mr. Potato Head you can see many more, including some limited editions. In my view, you can never have too many toys in your own collection. But, these also work great to give as gifts to toy collectors, or a way to start a new collector off.
